Full-time Police Officer Position - Ogunquit, ME
The Ogunquit Police Department is accepting applications for a full-time police officer. Minimum qualifications: age 21; valid drivers license; must pass physical agility test; background; polygraph; psychological; financial checks and be in good physical condition/health. Open to all applicants, with preference given to full-time, certified police officers that have already completed the BLEPT program (or an out-of-state equivalent). The Ogunquit Police Department offers a starting salary of $19.21 to $21.06/hour depending on experience, with additional incentives; 20-year, no age limit state retirement with C.O.L.A.; combined leave time accrues at 25.0 hours per month at date of hire; college incentive; 2.5% for EMT; full health and dental benefits and more.
2008 Summer Reserve Police Officers
Salary: $13.00-15.00/hour depending on experience
The Ogunquit Police Department is currently accepting Reserve Police Officer applications for the 2008 season. You may download an application on-line or call 207-646-9362.
Our reserve officers provide town-wide patrol services on foot, bicycle and cruiser. Ogunquit is a very busy and diverse resort community with a summer population in excess of 50,000 people in four (4) square miles. Reserve officers generally work a schedule of days, evenings or split shifts for a total of forty (40) hours per week.
Applicants must meet the following minimum standards to apply:
The full application process will commence in February ’08 and will consist of a review of the application submitted, an oral interview, background check and may require a polygraph, medical and/or psychological testing.
Full-time, pre-service law enforcement training will occur in late May and early June (dates TBA). There will be an additional 40 hours of Advanced Reserve Officer training, that will be coincide with and be in addition to the full-time training, for all Ogunquit police officers.
The Ogunquit Police Department pays for training and provides uniforms, firearms and most equipment for its officers.
